Berlin Flashback

We designed this project for a family, old clients of ours. Mutual understanding and trust have made the work easy for everyone. We named the project A Berlin flashback.

We designed this project for a family, old clients of ours. Mutual understanding and trust have made the work smooth and easy for everyone. We named the project A Berlin flashback.

The family of parents and three kids lives in Cyprus. They visit Moscow on business trips and children’s school holidays.

Designed lighting changes throughout the day depending on a scenario of use. One is technical illumination in the entry, walk-in closet, and kitchen. The other is local, soft and cozy, to set the mood and create the desired atmosphere.

All of the project’s design solutions were aimed to achieve a light and comfy interior. The simplicity of furniture shapes, textures, and natural materials allowed for a modern, cozy, and “green” apartment.

WHY BERLIN?

Our clients are fond of Berlin, they have lived in the city for many years. It is a modern business center where elegance and aesthetics naturally complement functionality.

The hand-drawn wallpaper of the Berlin Cathedral immerses you in the atmosphere of the city. Its color palette of pastel blue, green, and white defines the entire interior.

Concrete-like decorative plasterwork adorns one of the walls, which only intensifies the city vibe.

The living room is combined with the kitchen and dining room. This way, the family can communicate easily.

WELCOME!

The hallway has the entrance to the guest WC and the storeroom. There are also wardrobes, a banquette, and a shoe rack.

One part of the wall is mirrored to visually enlarge the room and add more space to it.

GIRLY ROOM

Kid’s room for three daughters required non-standard solutions. We decided to go with a bunk bed that has a pull-out section as a third sleeping space. Beds have separate curtains so that girls can have some privacy.
Parents agreed that such a bed itself is also a playing ground and very suitable for spending school holidays.

To avoid cluttering up the room with wardrobes, we designed an isolated walk-in closet for girls’ clothes. We also provided a place for studies and a bookcase for all kinds of stuff.

WHAT ABOUT PARENTS?

Hand-drawn painting and silk-textured plaster adorn bedroom walls, and engineered wood covers the floor. There is a king-size bed, nightstands, a dressing table, and a wardrobe.

The curtain fabric matches the color of the walls creating a sense of holism and completeness.

The aim was to design a modern European green interior, light and spacious. Initially, the space had no walls or finishing, and we were able to create a layout perfectly suitable for the family lifestyle.
